DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen Co-Owner Verifying Green Credentials of Homes
Tally Rabatin, design manager/co-owner of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen in Bellingham, recently became certified to verify the green credentials of houses for the National Association of Home Builders.

Rabatin meets with builders, conducts inspections and documents performance tests to determine whether a house meets the criteria of the NAHB's National Green Building Program. Rabatin completed training in green and sustainable home construction. She then passed a test to become an accredited, third-party certifier.

Rabatin evaluates seven aspects of a home seeking certification from the National Green Building Program: Site, Resource Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality, Homeowner Education and Global Impact.

"As more people begin to claim their products are 'green,' it's important that home buyers can trust certification from a third-party inspector," Rabatin said. "Also, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen now is better equipped to serve customers seeking green remodeling options."

Rabatin also is certified as a designer by the National Kitchen and Bath Association. She is active in Whatcom Young Professionals and the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County.

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen Owner Named to Two Local Boards

Matt Peterson, owner of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen in Bellingham, recently was selected to serve on the boards of two local trade organizations.

Peterson was named to the Builder's Board of the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County. He also has accepted the position of vice president of the Master Remodelers Council and will lead its education efforts.

"I'm honored to be selected for leadership positions in both of these excellent organizations," Peterson said. "Members in the BIAWC and Master Remodelers Council constantly seek to improve their skills and knowledge."

Peterson has more than seven years of experience in remodeling. DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen, located at 3311 Northwest Ave., earned the Remodeler's Excellence Award for 2006 from BIAWC in the category of residential kitchen remodels costing over $60,000.
